CHAMPIONSHIP PERFORMANCE SERIES
Baseball and Softball players ages 7-18
The Baseball and Softball training group is innovative training for athletes looking for a combination of all aspects needed to excel at any level in this sport. Of the 5 tools necessary for success, HIT FOR POWER, HIT FOR AVERAGE, SPEED, GLOVE SKILLS, and ARM STRENGTH, our program will enhance 4 tools, leaving the HIT FOR AVERAGE tool to our expert baseball and softball instructors. As we develop JL Baseball & Softball Academy, the training opportunities for elite level players will grow to meet their needs. The CPS Baseball & Softball groups start off with a Movement Warm Up and Flexibility Series to increase the strength of the joints at an extended range of motion and ensure that the athletes have warmed up prior to exercise. This is a vital period in an athlete’s life and the proper warm up and flexibility series is a must.
JLA’s Speed Series focuses on how to run properly by teaching the latest speed enhancement techniques and exercises. As you start to condition the muscles used in sprinting, your speed level will soar to new heights. A combination of resistant speed drills such as explosive sleds, performance resistant bands, and power cords are combined to teach the athlete how to apply force to the ground to generate top speed.
The Sport Specific Speed (Agility) Series was developed to enhance the athlete's multi-directional speed. Baseball and softball are multi-directional in every aspect and our agility quickness program ensures that the skills to develop this aspect of the game will be learned and practiced. We will combine a vast array of progressive cone drills, resistant ladder quickness drills, and foot speed drills, to achieve an athletes sport specific training needs. Finally our Weight Training Series helps tie our program together. As you become stronger, the faster and more powerful you will be. Each phase builds upon the previous phases when weight training. The emphasis is still on the fundamental principles, but new concepts are learned and advanced skill level exercises are introduced.
The Baseball & Softball training includes fundamental skill development, utilizing innovative drills and competitive exercises that translate directly into the demands of sport. This includes theory and hands-on practical experience to enhance each athlete’s ability. Bring your gear bag to each workout because you never know what kind of drills we will prepare.
